MANAGING DIRECTOR AND FINANCE MANAGER
George is an ACCA accountant and has an Oxford degree in Philosophy and Theology.
He succeeded his father as director of the company and is responsible for all financial matters.
George is one of the few people to read and contribute to the letters page of our local Farnham newspaper.
HEAD OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Amey joined STB in 2016 and is responsible for the project management team at STB. She looks after their day-to-day activities, as well as managing her own client base and carrying out linguistic work.
She currently represents Corporate Members on the ITI’s Board of Directors. Amey has a BA in Italian and Spanish from the University of Exeter, which included a semester studying translation at the University of Bologna in Italy. She also spent some time living in Spain where she worked at a private university, taking on Spanish to English translation projects.
Outside of work, Amey has her hands full with her two cats whose favourite activities are belly rubs and chasing tennis balls.
SALES MANAGER
With over a decade of sales experience across a wide range of industries, Craig first entered the translation industry in 2011 and joined STB in 2018.
He is responsible for all sales activity, which includes identifying and understanding potential corporate and agency clients’ needs, to ensure we can provide them with the most appropriate service from our range.
He also heads up our account management team, who keep in touch with our current clients, to ensure they continue to receive the best possible service.
For relaxation and letting off steam, Craig is a volunteer with the Army Cadet Force.
MARKETING MANAGER
Since 2016, Marya has been responsible for the company’s marketing activities.
In addition to her BA and MA in Media and Communications from Jamia Millia Islamia University and experience in public relations and brand communication, she previously worked for language software company Rosetta Stone for over four years and is proficient in both Hindi and Urdu.
Since the age of six, she has had a love of poetry and reading translations of poems from Japanese, Hindi, Persian and Italian. She has even published a few of her own.
HEAD OF RESOURCES
Nicki is responsible for managing the in-house and freelance translation teams at STB, overseeing all manner of contractual, performance and relationship matters. Nicki entered the translation industry in 2012 and spent 11 years working in a variety of translation project management roles serving medical and marketing clients. She holds a BA in French and Spanish studies from Lancaster University, and an MA in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Manchester. Nicki has extremely mischievous cats called Mishka and Evie, who love attending Zoom calls on WFH days.
HR AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER
Ruth joined STB in September 2014, after gaining industry experience as a German-English translation proofreader. She holds an MA in Translating from the University of Salford and a BA in French and German from the University of Leicester. In 2018, she took over responsibility for maintaining our ISO and GDPR procedures and documentation and has since progressed to the role of HR and Compliance Manager. She is a first-aider and Mental Health First Aider. When not working, Ruth enjoys spending her free time with her son and husband.
CLIENT RELATIONS MANAGER
Sarah joined the STB team in September 2023. She holds a BA in German language and linguistics from the University of Essex.
Sarah looks after our clients to ensure that we understand their needs and provide translation services to help their businesses thrive.
Away from work, Sarah is a proud mum to two teenage boys and when not running round after them, she can be found planning her next trip to France.
RESOURCE MANAGER
Indi joined STB in Jan 2019. She studied a BA Hons in Spanish and Intercultural studies with one year spent in Granada, Spain as an Erasmus student, which was one of her best experiences in life.
After she finished her degree at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, she decided to go back to Spain where she worked as an English assistant in a primary school in Jerez de la Frontera. Her job is to recruit and support our freelance translators, including writing our quarterly freelancer newsletter ‘The Word’.
Outside of work, she enjoys travelling and exploring worldly and cultural sites, some of her favourites being Chichen Itza in Mexico and swimming in the Coral Reef in Australia.
SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
Greg has a BA in European Studies and German from King’s College London which included a year studying in Berlin. Greg discovered his love for translation while undertaking freelance German to English translation work during his final year at university. He then went on to take an in-house translation position before joining STB as a Project Manager in 2018.
He is also the proud winner of ITI’s Best Newcomer (Corporate Member) award 2020. When he’s not in the office, Greg loves to go hiking, cycling and cross-country skiing!

Alex holds a BA in German and Spanish from the University of Surrey, which included professional training with the translation team at EY in Frankfurt. He then went on to work at a language school in Ronda after his studies. Alex joined STB as a Project Manager in 2021. When he’s not at work, Alex enjoys horse riding, managing his football Instagram fan page and exploring London.

Sonia joined the STB team in 2016 and primarily handles translations for individual and legal clients. She has a BA in Applied Linguistics from UANL in Monterrey, Mexico, and has also studied and worked in Uruguay, the United States, Switzerland, France, and now the UK.
Sonia is a big fan of the New Japan Pro Wrestling scene, especially Naitō Tetsuya from Japan who found success in Mexico.
PROJECT MANAGER AND PLUNET ADMINISTRATOR
Jasmine has always been interested in languages and different cultures, having spent extensive time living in Germany, the Netherlands and Indonesia. She completed her MA in Translation at the University of Surrey and BA in German and French at the University of Portsmouth. Her BA included a year abroad where she studied at the Université de Mons in Belgium and Hochschule Flensburg in Germany.
Jasmine originally joined STB as an intern in 2016, and then joined us full-time in 2017 after completing her MA.
Jasmine likes to bring in baked goods for all her grateful colleagues on a regular basis, including special cakes for special occasions.
PROJECT MANAGER
Marzia holds a BA in Languages, Cultures, Literature and Translation and an MA in Linguistic, Literary and Translation Studies from La Sapienza University of Rome. Marzia’s interest in different languages and cultures inspired her to study abroad in Moscow and then Leiden in the Netherlands.
She subsequently moved to the UK and worked as a Russian and Italian language assistant in a Grammar school in London, before joining STB as a Project Coordinator in April 2021.
In her spare time, she enjoys socialising but also practising ballet, singing, and learning how to play her new ukulele.
TRANSLATION TEAM LEADER
Chloe holds an MA in Interpreting and Translating from the University of Bath and an MA (Oxon) in French and German from the University of Oxford. As part of her studies, she spent a year working as a language assistant in Osnabrück and later completed internships at the European Patent Office in Munich and the European Commission in Brussels.
She previously worked as an in-house translator at a large manufacturing company and then at another translation agency before joining STB in 2016. Chloe is an active member of her local Women’s Institute (WI), which allows her to indulge her love of baking and crafting, and learn new things.
SENIOR TRANSLATOR, MITI
Nick holds a BA in French and German from Queen Mary, University of London, and an MA in Translation Studies from UCL. He joined STB in 2014 and is also a Qualified Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. As well as translating from German into English for our regular clients, he also edits and checks work by freelancers.
When interviewed on German radio after England were knocked out of the 2002 World Cup he described himself as ‘total niedergeschlagen’ (utterly dejected) and then predicted Senegal would win the whole thing. Did they?
ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT
Camilla has an MA (Oxon) in Philosophy and Theology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Library and Information Studies from UCL. She has worked in libraries and also completed a Chapterhouse course in copy-editing and proofreading, working as a freelance copy-editor for twelve years.
Camilla started working for STB on a part-time basis in January 2014, assisting with invoicing and bookkeeping. Camilla enjoys Tai Chi, yoga and Zumba.
