We run rigorous quality checks on every translation. If any potential errors are identified, these are amended by the original translator or an independent reviewer before delivery to the client. These checks include automated checks of spelling, grammar and formatting.
If the project has been completed using computer-assisted translation (CAT) software, we also check that the translator has maintained consistency with any previous translations and any client-approved terminology. If an optional editing or revision service has been ordered, then a second translator will review the whole document for accuracy, style and formatting.
ISO and memberships
Surrey Translation Bureau is independently certified to the general business quality standard BS EN ISO 9001:2015, and to the translation industry standard BS EN ISO 17100:2015. We are also certified to post-editing machine translation standard 18587:2017.
We are a corporate member of the ITI (Institute of Translation and Interpreting), the UK’s independent professional association committed to promoting the highest standards in the translation profession. We’ve regularly given presentations and training to other ITI members, and received and even judged awards!
Further, as members of the Surrey, Thames Valley and Hampshire Chambers of Commerce, we have the chance to meet other businesses in our area and understand their goals.
Confidentiality and GDPR
We understand any document sent to us for translation may contain sensitive commercial or personal information. As you would expect, we comply with strict confidentiality procedures in line with our ISO 17100:2015 certification, GDPR best practices and client-specific requirements.
